Danbury Mint Porcelain Dolls, Norman Rockwell Cover Girl Collection, Going Out.
Going Out is one of the *four dolls in the Saturday Evening Post Cover Girls Collection inspired by Norman Rockwell and the art he created for the magazine covers. This artwork, depicting the young woman in the midst of preparations for a night out on the town, was the cover for October 21, 1933.
The doll is made of bisque porcelain and has delicately hand painted detail. She is dressed in an elegant green chiffon gown with a delicately scalloped collar and puffed sleeves, both adorned with beautifully embroidered flowers. Her cape is matching green satin trimmed in white marabou-trimmed fur. This doll includes a stool, a dressing table, and mirror. Original issue price was $130.
This doll, issued in 1988, is 14 inches sitting. She is in excellent condition and comes with her original box.
